Rock Climbing Discipleship

The mission of Christ the Rock is to enble urban people to come into an ever-growing personal relationship with God. The process of becoming a fully developing follower of Jesus is called discipleship.

At Christ the Rock our system of helping people grow in God is called Rock Climbing.

There are three main steps in Rock Climbing.

First is Rock Climbing 101 - Foundations of Discipleship Class.

Discipleship Class covers what it means to be a fully developing follower of Jesus.

On the next Sunday after the class, a Certificate of Completion will be awarded to participants during the Sunday service.

If a participant has not been water baptized they are encouraged to sign up for the next baptism.

Next is Rock Climbing 102 - Partnership Class.

Partnership Class covers why it is important to be connected and committed to a local church family. The mission and vision of the church are discussed in depth as well as how we support the church in prayer and service.

On the next Sunday after the class, a Certificate of Completion will be awarded to participants during the Sunday service.

Third is Rock Climbing 103 - the SHAPE Class.

This class helps you discover your SHAPE for ministry. God has designed each of us to accomplish a particular service for him. We call this design your SHAPE.

SHAPE stands for Spiritual Gifts, Heart (or Passion), Abilities, Personality, and Experience.

When we discover our SHAPE for ministry, we can begin to serve in an area that will make us effective and fullfilled.

To sign up for a class, check the appropriate box on your Connection Card next Sunday or Email us to let us know your interest.
